How to Record Videos with Distribute

Recording videos with Distribute is quick, easy, and efficient. Whether it’s for sales or business, you can create great-looking videos in no time. Let’s jump in!

Step 1: Install the Distribute Screen Recorder Extension

First, you’ll need to install the Distribute extension. Here’s how to do it:

1. Go to the Chrome Web Store

2. Search for "Distribute Screen Recorder"

3. Click “Add to Chrome”

4. After installation, click the extensions icon (a small puzzle piece) in your browser, scroll down, and select Distribute.

5. Log in to your Distribute account. If prompted, allow permissions for your camera and microphone.

Step 2: Setting Up Your Recording

Now that your extension is ready, it’s time to record!

1. Tap the Distribute icon to open the recorder.

2. Choose your recording area:

   • Entire screen

   • A specific window

   • Current browser tab

   • Webcam-only (just your camera)

3. The camera preview will pop up in the lower-left corner. Drag it anywhere on the screen to fit your recording style!

Step 3: Start Recording

You’re all set up—time to hit record and get started!

1. Press "Start Recording"

2. A 3-second timer will appear, giving you time to prepare.

3. Speak clearly and confidently.

Step 4: Finish and Save Your Recording

Once you’ve nailed your message, here’s how to wrap it up:

1. Click the red "Finish Recording" button when you’re done.

2. Save and share your video:

   • Download the video for offline use.

   • Copy the video link to share directly.

   • Add the video to a customizable page within Distribute.

Manage Your Recordings

Distribute makes it easy to organize and revisit your videos. Visit the "Quick Recordings" page to view all your saved videos.

Step 2: Start Recording on Your Page

Once the extension is installed, recording your video narration is just a few clicks away.

Here’s what you need to do:

1. Go to the page where you want to add the video narration.

2. Click the Distribute icon in the top-right corner of your browser.

3. Hit the "Record" button to start creating your narration.

Step 3: Choose Your Video and Audio Source

Before you start recording, you’ll be asked to select your video and audio source. This ensures the best quality for your narration. 

• If you’re using a webcam, make sure it’s properly connected.

• Select the correct microphone to ensure clear audio.

• If you want to record your screen along with your narration, choose the appropriate display option.

Once your setup is ready, click "Start Recording."

Retake or Delete Your Video Anytime

Not happy with how your video turned out? Need to update it later? Distribute makes it easy to retake or remove videos.

• To redo a recording, just hit the Instant Retake button and try again.

• If you want to delete or edit your narration in the future, go back to the video and edit or retake the video.
